Foster Parenting Overview

Foster parenting is a special program sponsored by the government for children who are not raised by their biological parents. Foster parents are tasked with the duty of caring for children that are not biologically theirs, a duty that they undertake voluntarily. Some foster homes are overseen by the government while others are run by private institutions. These centres provide foster children with loving families and caring environments for them to thrive in.

Because all children deserve a stable and loving home, foster homes play a vital role in the future of these young children giving them the opportunity to belong to a family and to grow up in a stable household. Not all children who end up in foster homes are abandoned or abused, some of these children’s parents have fallen onto hard times and simply cannot afford to care for them financially.
